Full Text message error: 05/05/2008

Using old version 3.5 of Power Tools and searching all mail files on server for a particular email address - whether sent or received from and of 610 mail file I get 148 messages from the server "Full Tes message: index of XXXX documents exceeds limit (5000), aborting: Maximum allowable documents exceeded for a temporary full text index.

How do I resolve this????
